2010 Tour de France – Stage 2 Live Blog

Hello everyone and welcome to Stage 2 of the 2010 Tour de France.  Today’s stage featuires 201kms of racing from Brussles to spa, and should be our first chance to see some aggressive racing as the Tour enters the Belgian Ardennes.

With 6 climbs on the day, I think we might see a GC contender or two go on the attack, possibly for a bit of a cushion heading into tomorrow’s cobbled Stage 3.

This might also be a day for an opportunist like Thomas Voeckler or Damiano Cunego to try his hand at an attack or two.

Come join me in Bicycling’s Live Blog–I’m the host, and would love to hear your questions and comments while we watch the race live.

And come back later for post-Stage wrap-up and commentary.  Enjoy!

About Whit

My experiences might easily fit many cycling fans' definitions of “living the dream.” Since getting hooked on the sport watching Lance Armstrong win the 1993 U.S. Pro Championship, I've raced as an amateur on Belgian cobbles, traveled Europe to help build a European pro team, and piloted that team from Malaysia to Mont Ventoux. As a former assistant director sportif with Mercury-Viatel, I've also seen the less dreamy side of the sport – the side rife with broken contracts, infighting, and positive dope tests. These days, I live with my lovely wife in Pennsylvania and share my experiences and views on the sport at Bicycling Magazine, the Embrocation Cycling Journal, and at my own site, Pavé.
